The club has an indoor range of twenty metres with three firing points. Bench rest is the most popular with prone firing as an option and standing for competent shooters.
There is a heated club room with facilities for making hot drinks and warming food. The club has disabled access, a toilet and there is no problem with parking.
The Area Target Club is a private small bore rifle club firing .22 rim fire only. Most members choose to shoot rifles, but long barrelled pistols in .22 calibre is becoming Increasingly popular.
The Area Target Club is Home Office approved and affiliated to the National Small Bore Rifle Association. It is subject to routine police safety inspections and a recognised Community Amateur Sports Club. It is run by an elected, unpaid, committee who lease the range for a peppercorn rent from Stallingborough Parish Council. The club is financially sound and is proud of an unblemished safety record.
The club does not hold firearms for members and no firearms nor ammunition is stored on site.
Full members enjoy access to the range seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year, For consideration of our neighbours members are asked not to shoot before 11 am on a Sunday nor after 9 pm on any day.
Potential members are welcome to attend by pre arrangement, shoot one of the club guns under one to one supervision and have a look at the club and meet its members. Should you wish to take up the sport the club is happy to guide you through the various types of firearms available, applying for a Firearm Certificate, firearm security and answer whatever questions you may have.
